January 6th

As dusk falls the birds signal the lengthening days with full throated song.

Fourteenth January

A seagull flies low over my car and there are others. They have all come inland to shelter so stormy weather is sure to follow

Thirteenth January - First glimmer of spring

In the early morning dark before I turn on the bathroom room light I hear a Blackbird call from the garden.

Tenth January

Overnight the sky has been blown clean save for a scatter of starlings being bustled about by the wind.

Sixth January Bird

A small black bird running across the road surrounded by cars. I take my foot off the accelerator as the moorhen dashes for the safety of the kerb. 

Fifth January

I have kept one green shiny Christmas decoration which looks like a goblin.

Fourth January - postcard

With a few final stitches the postcard quilt is finished and ready to go out into the world with its poem.
