Golden Apples - Jan fifth

On the edge of the industrial estate a tree still draped with yellow apples, despite the gales, like a late Christmas decoration.

    Lovely. A golden apple on a tree in winter really is a gift. I have an apple orchard and on Christmas day we walked through and found the last of the season's Ida Red's still on the branch and wonderfully chilled and edible.
